Gathering Spoons ๐Ÿ’ช

I’ve spent the post holiday period recovering. It sometimes feels so unfair that we need so much time to get-over things ๐Ÿ˜’. But thankfully, my infusion on Wednesday seems to have given me a little energy ๐Ÿ‘. Today I managed to tackle a few chores, so my house is looking more reasonable again ๐Ÿ˜‰

We booked a little weekend jaunt for this weekend, but on reflection, decided it wasn’t worth the zapping it’ll do, so we’ve decided to skip it. Much to the delight of all – a restful weekend with the boys hanging out with friends and perhaps a BBQ and a soak in the hot-tub is far more appealing ๐Ÿ‘

So rest it is, and forget galavanting around ๐Ÿ˜‰

My boys chose their Christmas presents yesterday, so being Miss Organised, I ordered everything! I can’t believe I have Christmas presents and it’s only August! But on the positive, I have very little to do now, so we’ll have a great time just enjoying the atmosphere without the stress of searching for gifts ๐Ÿ‘. I adore the holiday period! So I’m thoroughly looking forward to getting into October and Halloween, bonfire night and then the Christmas run-up ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Now what to do in September???

Driving is No FUN ๐Ÿš™

I’ve definitely decided that we will not drive to our holidays again! It really did make things a whole lot harder ๐Ÿ˜”. Our journey there took a crazy amount of time due to traffic, so I was totally wiped out! Then on our return, we had a puncture which led to a three and a half hour delay! So we felt so awful that we came straight home ๐Ÿก instead of staying over for our last night ๐Ÿ‘Ž

So our minds are set, it’s train journeys ๐Ÿš‰ every time from now on, except when we visit places locally ๐Ÿ‘.

We also found that being in a hotel rather than a caravan park ๐Ÿš was much harder too. I’m not able to go out for long periods as I feel too bad, so after a short morning trip out, the boys were stuck in the hotel room whilst I rested – not fun for them ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘Ž. I then forced myself to go out and sit watching them play on their body boards ๐Ÿ„, when all I really wanted to do was sleep ๐Ÿ’ค. And the. In the evenings I was too wiped out to eat out so we lived on take-outs ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸ, and I was sound asleep far too early ๐Ÿ˜ด

So definitely not the ideal holiday for two boys. But we made the best of it by having some great days out – my favourite was the zoo ๐Ÿฏ and park ๐ŸŒณ. Everyone had the best time, Rolo ๐Ÿถ included ๐Ÿ˜‰ and we enjoyed a really great lunch out ๐Ÿ at the boat side ๐Ÿšฃ cafe ๐Ÿ‘. A brilliant day ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Having experienced all this though, we’ve made plans for our next holidays…

Centerparcs at Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ time as usual – which we all adore! Followed by a night away for New Year ๐ŸŽ‰ with kids entertainment, buffet and disco ๐Ÿ‘. Then Raster next year I’ve booked Haven again, but this time on the Yorkshire coast – just 3 miles from the train station too ๐Ÿ˜‰. Perfect! And next summer we’re considering a trip via euro tunnel ๐Ÿš‡ to Paris ๐Ÿ—ผ for a couple of nights, Disneyland Paris ๐ŸŽข for another couple of nights then a couple of nights in London ๐ŸŒ‰ on our return ๐Ÿ‘. Sounds like bliss!

I can’t wait! And no driving ๐Ÿš˜!

Spoonie Breaks ๐Ÿ„

Holidays with a lack of spoons are possible with the right planning ๐Ÿ˜‰. A trip out in the morning, when energy levels are at there highest,

Then chilling with a book whilst the boys play in the afternoon ๐Ÿ‘. Followed by lots of rest in the hotel ๐Ÿ˜„.

It really does work ๐Ÿ˜‰. We’re having a great time! So it just goes to prove that holidays and being chronically sick can work ๐Ÿ‘
