I’ve spent the post holiday period recovering. It sometimes feels so unfair that we need so much time to get-over things 😒. But thankfully, my infusion on Wednesday seems to have given me a little energy 👍. Today I managed to tackle a few chores, so my house is looking more reasonable again 😉
We booked a little weekend jaunt for this weekend, but on reflection, decided it wasn’t worth the zapping it’ll do, so we’ve decided to skip it. Much to the delight of all – a restful weekend with the boys hanging out with friends and perhaps a BBQ and a soak in the hot-tub is far more appealing 👍
So rest it is, and forget galavanting around 😉
My boys chose their Christmas presents yesterday, so being Miss Organised, I ordered everything! I can’t believe I have Christmas presents and it’s only August! But on the positive, I have very little to do now, so we’ll have a great time just enjoying the atmosphere without the stress of searching for gifts 👍. I adore the holiday period! So I’m thoroughly looking forward to getting into October and Halloween, bonfire night and then the Christmas run-up 😃
Now what to do in September???
I’ve definitely decided that we will not drive to our holidays again! It really did make things a whole lot harder 😔. Our journey there took a crazy amount of time due to traffic, so I was totally wiped out! Then on our return, we had a puncture which led to a three and a half hour delay! So we felt so awful that we came straight home 🏡 instead of staying over for our last night 👎
So our minds are set, it’s train journeys 🚉 every time from now on, except when we visit places locally 👍.
We also found that being in a hotel rather than a caravan park 🚍 was much harder too. I’m not able to go out for long periods as I feel too bad, so after a short morning trip out, the boys were stuck in the hotel room whilst I rested – not fun for them 👎👎. I then forced myself to go out and sit watching them play on their body boards 🏄, when all I really wanted to do was sleep 💤. And the. In the evenings I was too wiped out to eat out so we lived on take-outs 🍕🍔🍟, and I was sound asleep far too early 😴
So definitely not the ideal holiday for two boys. But we made the best of it by having some great days out – my favourite was the zoo 🐯 and park 🌳. Everyone had the best time, Rolo 🐶 included 😉 and we enjoyed a really great lunch out 🍝 at the boat side 🚣 cafe 👍. A brilliant day 😃
Having experienced all this though, we’ve made plans for our next holidays…
Centerparcs at Christmas 🎄 time as usual – which we all adore! Followed by a night away for New Year 🎉 with kids entertainment, buffet and disco 👍. Then Raster next year I’ve booked Haven again, but this time on the Yorkshire coast – just 3 miles from the train station too 😉. Perfect! And next summer we’re considering a trip via euro tunnel 🚇 to Paris 🗼 for a couple of nights, Disneyland Paris 🎢 for another couple of nights then a couple of nights in London 🌉 on our return 👍. Sounds like bliss!
I can’t wait! And no driving 🚘!
Holidays with a lack of spoons are possible with the right planning 😉. A trip out in the morning, when energy levels are at there highest,
Then chilling with a book whilst the boys play in the afternoon 👍. Followed by lots of rest in the hotel 😄.
It really does work 😉. We’re having a great time! So it just goes to prove that holidays and being chronically sick can work 👍
