Today I’m thankful for my dog groomer. She comes to our house to groom them both, which causes them much less stress as they don’t need to be separated from us. She’s very caring, and the dogs love her.

Today a post from one of my many positive Facebook pages and groups mentioned starting a journal 📓. I felt inspired! I have many lovely books that I can write in, so I searched and chose one, then happily started scribbling… It felt good to voice my breams and thoughts, definitely something I plan to keep doing!
So today I’m journaling 📓 happy 😁
It’s been a really lovely festive month 🎄. I’ve spent my time enjoying reading 📖 Christmas 🎄 books 📚 and watching Christmas 🎄 films 🎥 snuggled up beside the fire 🔥, perfect! When I have been out it’s to visit garden centres to soak up the festive displays and stock up on Christmas 🎄 goodies 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I had a few fun things this month – an outdoor photo 🎥 shoot, plus Manchester Christmas Markets too! Lots of fun!!!
There have been a few downsides though – increased pain to go with the chilly weather ❄️, but an increase in my fentanyl patches helped hugely! I have a fabulous GP! A broken powerchair ♿️, but wheelchair services soon got it back up and running 👍🏻, yeah for the NHS! Plus Rolo, my assistance dog needs surgery 😒 on his elbow… but hopefully he’ll be on the mend ASAP…
All in all I’ve kept my cheerful head on throughout the month, much helped by throwing myself into the festive spirit 🎄
I’m thankful for cozy warm clothes to wear on these chilly days! I bought a new scarf and gloves to compliment my warm wool coat, perfect for these chilly, frosty days ❄️
Thankfully I’ve just had a fentanyl increase! I’ve been feeling lots of pain with this chilly weather and today it’s dreadful!!! But with the fentanyl I’m ok 👌. I’m so blessed to have a fabulous GP!!!
I had my infusions last week, but my nurse struggled to find a vein. The one she did find was painful and led to a huge bruise.
I grind my teeth because of the pain too, so much so that I’m wearing my the teeth down, but it helps sadly. Any other pain is welcome because it’s distracting from the real big ones…
Next thing on the list is a possible tattoo… I’ve heard that this too is a welcome distraction, sounds good to me!
I adore Christmas 🎄, everything about it! But trying to get involved in everything can be really tough!!! But I had a plan…
I started by choosing my most favourite things to do and therefore prioritising.
Next I planned each trip to be short, so it wouldn’t zap me too much.
I interspaced outings with rest days.
On rest days I didn’t lose the Christmas spirit, I read Christmas books and watched Christmas films.
I planned get-togethers so that I would be at my best, so early for me as I’m always zapped later.
Lots and lots of rest days in between is definitely worth repeating!
Celebrations spent at home so I can rest, even with family here.
Easy to prepare food to lighten the load. Plus help with the cooking too.
Keeping warm in the chilly weather to help with the pain. For me it’s thermal leggings and a cozy vest top underneath my clothes and a very warm woolly jacket with scarf, hat and gloves. Thick socks and furry warm boots.
Buying presents online to save energy wandering busy shops.
Having a tree decorating party! The perfect way to cope with decorations.
Cozy blankets and a warm fire on chilly days spent snuggling up.
A relaxing break in a peaceful lodge at the end of it all! Perfect!
All in all we can do Christmas!
The plan for the week…
Today – snuggling up reading 📖 in front of the fire 🔥
Tomorrow – snuggling up reading 📖 in front of the fire 🔥, then watching ‘The Voice’ at media city!
Tuesday – snuggling up reading 📖 in front of the fire 🔥
Wednesday – wrapping presents then snuggling up reading 📖 in front of the fire 🔥
Thursday – snuggling up reading 📖 in front of the fire 🔥
Friday – snuggling up reading 📖 in front of the fire 🔥, then going to Kirby Lonsdale for veggie sausage for Yule & the Christmas market 🎄
Saturday – decorating the tree, then watching Michael Bourne ‘The Red Shoes’, followed by snoozing in front of the fire 🔥
Sunday – snuggling up reading 📖 in front of the fire 🔥
Sounds like the perfect week!!!
My memento box and photo album arrived for our vow renewal, yeah! I’m so thankful that we got back together and are marking this with a great day next year. Lots of photos coming up…
Today I’m so very grateful for wheelchair repairs… My powerchair has been playing up big time, and had to go into the workshop for repair. It was ready yesterday but they had no driver to bring it out to us… Thankfully they allowed my husband to pick it up though! Perfect 👌. We can now go out to the Christmas 🎄 markets in Manchester today! Yeah!!! Quality time with family and lots of Christmas spirit too!!!
